8 Useful Nerdy Office Decor and Supplies Ideas

I know there are a lot of people who don’t work in an office, but if you’re like me and have yourself a desk at work, then you might be wondering how to make the space more fitting for your personality. I’ve been thinking about this myself, so I thought I’d write a post of useful nerdy office decor and supplies ideas that you could tweak to specific hobbies like video games, comics, or anime.  

These will be just general ideas rather than anything specific, and technically you can also use these ideas in a home office as well. But if you do have a physical office to go to, keep in mind what is and what isn’t appropriate for where you work when it comes to choosing office decor and supplies. 

Pencil Holders 

Although a lot of office work is done on computers nowadays, you’ll still always need a pencil or pen. Pencil holders are useful because they can hold any pens and pencils you need, as well as supplies like scissors and highlighters.  

But you don’t have to just pick any basic holder if you don’t want to. There are a lot of different designs related to all sorts of nerdy hobbies. And if you don’t find one you like, a mug could do the trick too. 

Mouse pad 

There are plenty of mouse pads on Amazon and other places, some just a flat mouse pad and others with a cushion as a wrist rest. Just be sure to keep in mind that you should choose one that’s appropriate for a work office if you’re out in public or see other people. And I’m sure anime fans out there know what I’m talking about. 

Mouse pads are also great to just use at home. Everyone has a computer nowadays so you can also get one for a home office or gaming setup. Obviously, you can pick whatever you want for your own home. 

Coasters 

Coasters are a good option if you want to keep your desk area nice. Of course, you could just get them because you like the way one looks as well. But if you’re a heavy coffee drinker at work, you can always use a coaster to place your coffee mug on.  

I always find that my water bottle leaves a ring on my desk. Though my desk isn’t anything special, and it can be wiped off really easily, I’ve been debating about getting a coaster to sit under my metal bottle myself. 

Bookends 

This one most likely would depend on the size of your office and desk area. If you’re in a cubicle, you might not have as much space or need for something like this. However, there are plenty of people out there who also have their own areas where they can store books.  

So, if you’re someone who has some books in your office area or desk area, then you could always hold them up with a cool bookend that fits whatever you’re a fan of. Amazon has a ton of really cool choices, from Lord of the Rings to Marvel. 

Magnets 

If you have a magnetic desk or dry-erase board, then you could always use some magnets. Whether you actually use the magnets to hold anything up or not is your choice, but there are all sorts of different magnets out there for every single hobby.  

You could buy some Star Wars, Marvel, DC comics, or anime magnets; the list goes on. And if you don’t really have any reason to use the magnets, they still make a great decoration that adds some flair to your office. 

Sticky Notes 

If you’re a big note taker, then you could always buy some sticky notes or notepads that are designed after your favorite hobby or fandom. There are some really fun examples on Amazon, like for video games, D&D, comic books, Star Wars, and more. 

You could also pick out a notebook with something special on the cover; that way, you still have a hint of yourself, but the pages inside could still be used for anything, like notes or in a work meeting. 

Mugs and Wattle bottles 

I touched on mugs earlier when I brought up pencil holders. Like I said there, you could always use a mug to hold some pens and pencils instead of an actual pencil holder. However, I’ve added mugs and water bottles separately on the list as well because, obviously, you can use them to drink in. 

Plenty of people working in an office make themselves some coffee. So, technically, this can be a useful office decoration while you are or aren’t using it. Even if you aren’t using it to drink anything, you could still have it displayed on your desk. 

Phone Charger

Everyone has a cellphone nowadays. If you’re able to have your phone out while at work, then you could consider getting a phone charger that’s designed after your favorite fandom. Just remember to check the specifics for whatever charger you get to make sure it’ll work for your phone. 

Conclusion

Whether you’re an anime fan, love to play video games or read comics, you’re bound to find plenty of choices of all these ideas to fit whatever you like. And if you’re like me who enjoys all those things, then you just might be able to fill up your whole office with useful office decor and supplies. Remember to just keep in mind what’s appropriate for where you work.
