It’s a new year and that means Magic: The Gathering has a bunch of new sets coming out. Truthfully, I don’t play Magic: The Gathering, so I don’t know an excessive amount of information about the trading card game. However, my brother is a big fan, and I know many others are, and that’s why I like to showcase any upcoming new sets as best as I can. So, here’s Magic: The Gathering release schedule for 2026.

Lorwyn Eclipsed – January 23, 2026

The Lorwyn Eclipsed set is a return to the Lorwyn-Shadowmoor plane. It will be legal in all formats. It consists of Play boosters, Collector boosters, and a Commander Deck, and will also introduce two new products. One of them is theme decks, which will have 60 cards. The first two that will come out with Lorwyn Eclipsed are the Angels deck and the Pirates deck. Magic: The Gathering will also introduce their new Draft Night product during this set release.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – March 6, 2026

Just like many other Universes Beyond sets, this one is a collaboration with another IP. This time around, it’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, so the decks will feature characters like Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, Raphael, Splinter, and more.

This set, however, has a new cooperative play format where you can team up with up to four players to battle Shredder and other enemies. It’s legal in all formats and has Play Boosters, Collector boosters, Commander deck, bundles, Draft Night, and the cooperative Turtle Team-up. And yes, there’s pizza too.

Secrets of Strixhaven – April 2026

Secrets of Strixhaven is the third set in the final arc of the Metronome storyline. It’s a return to Arcavios and the Strixhaven school. I can’t find as much information about this set yet, but it focuses on the students of the five different colleges. Based on my research and what I read from the previous two decks on this list, this set will also have the new theme decks and Draft Night product.

Marvel Super Heroes – June 2026

I think this, like all the other Universes Beyond sets, is kind of obvious with what they are going to feature and be about. Clearly, this is a collaboration with Marvel and will have cards based off many of the Marvel superheroes like Captain America, the Fantastic Four, Hulk, and more. There’s Marvel’s villains in there too. This set will also have Commander decks.

The Hobbit – August 2026

This is another Universes Beyond set, featuring The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien. I’m not seeing much information about this Magic: The Gathering set yet. However, I’m sure it’ll be a lot like the Lord of the Rings one that came out back in 2023. I’m sure characters from the book, like Bilbo, will appear as cards.

Reality Fracture – October 2026

I can’t find a lot of information about this set either. Usually, it’s harder to find more details for the sets that are farther out into the year. What I’ve gathered so far is that it’ll be part of the final arc of the Metronome story.

There’s nothing out there about the mechanics yet, other than that it’s supposed to be so innovative that they weren’t even sure they could pull it off. I believe it will also consist of those two new Magic: The Gathering products, theme decks and Draft Night.

Star Trek – November 2026

Lastly, we have another Universes Beyond collaboration. And as the name suggests, this one is for Star Trek. The only other information I can find is that it’ll cover the whole entire franchise. I’m sure as the year goes on though, we’ll be getting a lot more information about it.

Conclusion

So far, that’s all for the Magic: The Gathering release schedule for 2026. This year comes with 7 new sets, with 4 of them being a part of the Universes Beyond series. For some of them, I couldn’t find a lot of information yet, but I’ll try to keep the post update as best as I can.
