Star Wars: The Bad Batch takes place right after Star Wars: The Clone Wars ended. It follows Clone Force 99 as they experience Order 66 and the rise of the empire. Due to their genetic modifications, they resist the order and are forced to leave Kamino with Omega, a young female clone. As the empire begins to take over, the Bad Batch act as mercenaries while also protecting Omega from people who work for the empire.

I really enjoyed watching The Bad Batch. The series was entertaining, well-written, and interesting. Frankly, I really like seeing the Star Wars story from the perspective of the clones. Seeing Jedi, Sith, and lightsaber fights is awesome, but seeing what the world is like for others is really interesting.

There’s a lot of heart and soul to this cartoon, which to some might be surprising. But Clone Force 99 is a family, and you care deeply for what happens to each character in the group. I think this is because of how well the characters are written.

Each one has their own unique personality, and they’re all extremely likable. We’ve met the Bad Batch in the Clone Wars, so you’re going into the story already knowing a bit about who each one of them is if you’ve watched that. But you see much more of them and really get to know them in this.

Omega is a new character, and at first, I was worried she might get annoying. But she didn’t turn out that way at all. Sure, she’s a kid who doesn’t know much about the outside world. There are times when she does some kid things, like go off on her own when she shouldn’t, but she sees the Bad Batch as her brothers. She trusts in them and listens to them and knows if she doesn’t, she could get herself or the others hurt.

I’m also really impressed with Dee Bradley Baker, the voice of all the clones. The majority of this series is just his voice, and he did an incredible job. Each clone has their own voice that fits their personality, and he did an especially exceptional job picking the perfect voices for each of the Bad Batch. Their voices match them so well.

Due to what happens in the series, which I won’t say because it’ll be a spoiler, the show really pulls you in. I really wanted to keep watching it to find out what would happen every time I put the show on, but sometimes I couldn’t because of timing.

There are three seasons of Star Wars: The Bad Batch, and each one is just as good as the last. Frankly, I would have been fine with seeing even more of them because I enjoyed watching these characters so much. But the story does wrap up nicely and technically doesn’t need more. It’s just me liking the characters and wanting to see more of them.

Personally, there is something in the series that happens that I wish didn’t, but that is just a personal preference. It does make sense storywise, but it’s just kind of sad, and I really didn’t want it to be real. And yes, I’m trying to keep it really vague because I never want to spoil things for anyone when they’re reading my reviews.

Really, my only complaint for the series would be related to that story choice and something I would have loved to have seen before it happened, or, rather, if it didn’t happen at all. But again, that’s more of a personal preference in storytelling that would vary from person to person.

I really did enjoy watching Star Wars: The Bad Batch. I think Star Wars fans would like it as well. It’s a good story, and the characters are just really loveable. Honestly, they’re all so great it’s hard to pick a favorite. It has an excellent mixture of genres and themes, from action to comedy, and there’s truly a lot of heart in it. I would love to see the Bad Batch characters again in more Star Wars stories.
