It’s time for another Weekly Recommendations post. I’ll be recommending three different kinds of entertainment for you. These might be anime, video games, board games, comics, and other similar forms of entertainment. They may also vary in intended audience, age, genre, and theme.

Weiss Schwarz

  • Card Game
  • Deck Builder, Collectable, Strategy
  • Buy on Amazon

Weiss Schwarz is a collectable Japanese deck-building card game based on characters from anime like Fairy Tail, Fate/Stay Night, Love Live!, Steins;Gate, and other series. The objective is to force the other player up to the fourth level (further explained in the game’s rules) or at least prevent yourself from reaching it until your opponent runs out of cards. Each level increase allows you to play stronger characters.

Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic

Supernatural entities known as “Djinns” rule over large labyrinths called dungeons.  The Djinn will bestow extraordinary power on the person who can successfully conquer their dungeon. Magi, rare and powerful magicians, created these dungeons to help kings build empires. Aladdin, a young, isolated magician finally leaves his home to explore the world with Ugo, a djinn he can summon by playing a flute. He befriends Alibaba Saluja, and the two attempt the nearest dungeon, which begins an adventure that will affect the whole world and also help them learn more about themselves.

He Can’t Be This Dumb!

International Island High is a prestigious school for the wealthy and elite. After a chance encounter, Kang Doha, a regular girl from a normal family, finds herself forced to attend the school. The students are divided into dorms by their academic ranking, peer popularity, and family status. Despite Doha’s desire to live an inconspicuous high school life, she finds herself in need of a place to stay after she gets kicked out of her dorm room. Rowoon is the most popular student in school and lives in the VIP room, but his ineptitude with girls threatens his lifestyle. He offers Doha the opportunity to live in the VIP room with him if she helps him understand girls better.
