It’s time for me to post my Weekly Recommendations. This is a post I publish every Friday where I recommend three different kinds of entertainment for you. These can be anime, comics, video games, movies, books, board games, or any other similar form of media. They might also vary in intended audience, age, genre, and theme.

Your Name

  • Anime, Movie
  • Drama, Supernatural, Romance

Mitsuha Miyamizu is a high school girl living in the country who dreams of traveling to Tokyo. One day, she awakens in the body of Taki Tachibana, a high school boy from that very city. Taki wakes up in Mitsuha’s body. Although the two first believe it is only a dream, they continue to switch bodies. They work together to teach each other about their lives to keep their secret hidden, but they have no idea why or how to stop it. They start to bond, but when they both decide to meet each other, it turns out that their body swapping has much bigger implications.

GATE

  • Anime: 24 episodes
  • Action, Adventure, Military, Isekai, Fantasy

A portal to another world opens up in Tokyo. Youji Itami, a member of the Japanese self-defense force, travels through the gate to an unknown land full of magic and magical beings with the goal of learning more about it and making friends with its inhabitants. Japan hopes to create peace between the two worlds, or else they will both be destroyed in a catastrophic war.

I Shall Master this Family

  • Manhwa
  • Fantasy, Romance, Drama, Isekai

The Lombardi family was once one of the Empire’s most powerful families, but it fell to ruin after the death of its patriarch. Firentia was born to a Lombardi father and a peasant mother. She was kicked out after her father died and later killed after getting hit by a carriage while drunk. She is then reincarnated into her seven-year-old self, with her memories intact. She’s now set on becoming the family’s head to save the Lombardi family from disaster.
