Weekly Recommendations is a post I write each Friday where I recommend three different kinds of entertainment. These options can be anime, comics, video games, tabletop games, and other similar forms of entertainment. They might also vary in genre, themes, intended audience, and age.

The Mafia Nanny

Davina lost her family in a fire linked to a mafia hit when she was a child. Her nanny, who founded a school for elite nannies with special skills, raised her and trained her to be a nanny. Now that Davina’s grown up and has completed her education, her first client is Gabriel Angelini, a Venetian underboss. She’s tasked with protecting his son, which throws her deep into the mafia world, but she also suspects the Angelinis might have been involved in her parents’ death.

MySims Kingdom

  • Video Game: Nintendo DS, Wii, Switch
  • Life Simulation, Strategy, Puzzle

The king of a dilapidated kingdom has appointed you as its new Wandolier, tasked with rebuilding the kingdom. You travel to several islands throughout the kingdom, using scrolls and mana to complete tasks the inhabitants of each island give you. You can customize your character and the structures you build on the various islands.

Please Love the Useless Me

Michiko Shibatai is a 29-year-old who was recently fired and is having difficulty finding a new job. However, she continues to spend money on her younger boyfriend, hoping that he will marry her. She eventually finds out that he’s been deceiving her and just using her for money. She then runs into her old boss, Ayumu Kurosawa, whom she dislikes, but he hires her at his restaurant because he feels responsible for her getting fired.
